
Dr Damian Shiels
I have over 25 years’ experience in the heritage sector with particular expertise in researching, interpreting and communicating the past for and to the public. I am available to consult on all forms of projects that relate to heritage and history outreach, both with individuals and organisations.
Over the course my career I have developed, managed and designed a wide-range of public-facing heritage initatives on behalf of community groups, public bodies, organisations and businesses. My wide-range of experience in the area has been gleaned across the public, private and academic sectors, including positions such as Curator at the National Museum of Ireland; Company Director, Post Excavation and Publications Manager at one of Europe’s largest archaeological consultancies; and Research Fellow and Digital Humanities/Outreach specialist at Northumbria University.
